Surrender to your Brilliance - Traveling Light

Surrender to your Brilliance

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA Surrender to your BrillianceI have gotten into a few conversations lately about surrender. People want to know – is it different than giving up? Is it resigning to fate? Is it giving up your freedom of free will?

Here's what I think:

Surrender is letting go of the story of being small.

Releasing the idea that you are negatively special.

That you are all alone, you're different, you don't belong, or don't matter.

Surrender is deciding to release those voices, habits and decisions that have kept you from stepping up to being as brilliant a light as you actually are.

Surrender to your brilliance.

It's a scary thought, to admit that you are brilliant. That when you really let what is in your heart come to the surface, you are a genius of love. That you can really make a huge difference, just by standing up and speaking the knowng that is in your heart.

Marianne Williamson said this brilliantly, of course:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?  Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. …As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

What if surrender is letting go of the story of how small you are, and stepping into your brilliance?

Who would you be, what would you do, when you surrender to your brilliance, your story of being smaller than you really are?

If you'd like to hear more about this, including some real world tips about HOW to do it, here's a link to a free call I'm doing on the subject, on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 10 AM Pacific. All the details are in the link – and if you miss the call, you'll get the recording.

Hope to "see" you there!
